We first heard about Koh Tao from people on Utila: a few of our friends had lived on the island and many others had visited at one time or another. Like Utila, we were told, it’s an island of diving, relaxing, and having a good time but with better food, beaches, and scenery. So when we started to chart a course south from Bangkok, we didn’t even think about going anywhere else. Koh Tao was the obvious place to begin exploring the islands of Thailand.
Making it even sweeter was the knowledge that our good friend Emma, who used to work on Koh Tao as an instructor, would be visiting at the same time we would. In addition to spending plenty of quality time with her on land, we had our own personal guide underwater and Marbree had a one-on-one Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty course with her. I did my Rescue diver course with Crystal Dive and then had a chance to try out my new camera (Canon Powershot G16) underwater. Jen, these shots are amazing!
Thanks, Megan! I am really enjoying it. I would love to get published someday and make it a profession.
