Oh South Africa, How Do I Love Thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

Of your oceans, coastlines, and mountains,

Filled with new friends and endless beauty.

I love thee to the level of every day’s

Most active need, with sun and wind, flora and fauna.

I love thee freely, as a traveler strives for adventure.

I love thee purely, as they turn from the mundane.

I love thee with the passion put to use

In my best-lived days, and with my childhood’s dreams.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

With my hard times in Eastern Africa. I love with the breath,

Smiles, laughter, of all my life; and, if immigration permits,

I shall but love thee better after a road trip in Namibia.
